UYUNI SALT FLATS 3D/2N

Day 01: Uyuni / Colchani / Fish Island / Chuvica

We'll depart the town of Uyuni at 10:00am in the morning and set off for the world's largest desert of salt, the Uyuni Salt Flats.
Our first stop upon arriving at the Salt Flats is the town of Colchoni, a unique and traditional town which dedicates itself to the exploitation of salt. You'll have the chance to observe their manner of processing the salt as well as admire their salt-based artisan handicrafts.
Our next stop is the Salt Hotel, the first building erected in the salt flat, it was made completely of salt and continues today as a museum attraction.
Afterwards we'll continue on to Fish Island, where you'll be able to see giant cacti exceeding two meters in height.
We'll end the day in the village of Chuvica, where we will spend the night in a family home

Day 02: Chuvica / Lagoons / Treestone / Red Lagoon

After enjoying our breakfast we'll head for the Cañapa, Stinking, Chiarcota, Honda, and Radadita Lagoons. It is at these tranquil oases where one watch the flamingos feeding.
Afterwards we will continue to the wildernss of Siloli with its striking and serene geological formations. Here you will see the famous Tree Stone.
Our last stop is the Eduardo Abaroa National Park, the entrance to the Red Lagoon. Here, you will see three different kinds of flamingos and other diverse birds. We'll spend the night in this spot.

Day 03: Red Lagoon / Geysers / Hotsprings / Green Lagoon / Uyuni

We'll have an early start on the third day, at 5:30 am, which will allow us to better appreciate the Sol de la Mañana (Morning Sun) Geysers. These noisy fumaroles…. We'll have breakfast at this spot.
From there we will continue to the Chalvin Desert for a dip in the hotsprings.
Finally, we will visit the mirror-like waters of the beautiful Green Lagoon before embarking on our return trip to the town of Uyuni.

Feasting at Lima's Mistura Festival

The 4th annual International Culinary Fair of Lima, Mistura 2011, is taking place right now at Parque de la Exposición in the center of Lima as foodies from around the world gather for good times and good food. The event will be continuing through to the 18th. Throughout the year Peru has been combed for vendors and chefs of quality and there are more than 1800 products available at the market. One of the big themes of this year's event is "fruits of the Amazon", although you'll find products native to all regions of the country.

Looking for a Miracle from the Lord of Huanca

Sacred Mt Pachatusan, whose name is quechua for "He Who Sustains the Earth", has the honor of being a preferred site for traditional pre-Columbian rites- such as offerings to the Apu (Mountain Deity) or Pachamama (Earth Mother), purifications, and Ayahuasca ceremonies- as well as the site of one of Peru's largest pilgrimages, the Lord of Huanca.

Sanctuary Garden to Machu Picchu: Off the Beaten Path with Pirwa Travel

Sanctuary Garden is an area of privately-owned property within the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu zone. It boasts recently discovered archeological sites including Inca terraces, irrigation canals, shrines, storehouses, towers, tunnels, and more, in an area that still has not been fully explored. Part of the Inca Trail Network crosses this area as well.
