Day 01: La Paz / Rurrenabaque /Pampas

You'll be picked up at your hotel or hostel at 8:30pm and we'll head in our 4x4 Jeep for the small town of Rurrenabaque on the banks of the Beni River. It is a popular ecotourism center and gateway to the pampas. From here we'll continue on northeast to Santa Rosa, on the banks of the Yacuma River. Along the way we'll keep an eye out for Heron families, sloths, and abundant flora and fauna in the lowlands of the Bolivian Amazon.
Lunch will be served in Santa Rosa at 12:00pm. Afterwards we will embark along the Yacuma River in a motorized dugout canoe. Throughout this excursion the wildlife of the river will unfold before you, including caimans, turtles, and a large variety of other reptiles and amphibians, monkeys including the night monkey, red howler, brown capuchin, and black spider monkeys, capybara, and birds such as kingfishers, storks, falcons, hawks and eagles.
3½ hours later we'll arrive at Bibosi Ecolodge, where well enjoy some coffee or herbal teas while accommodating ourselves.
We'll have a 1½ hour trek to watch the sun set over the jungle, enjoying our dinner upon our return to the lodge.
The day ends with a 1½ hour nighttime canoe trip to observe the rivers nocturnal life, watching the way in which the eyes of animals such as caiman and anacondas shine in night as well as watching for birds such as hawks.

Day 02: Pampas

After an 8:00am breakfast we'll hike through the Pampas to some small lagoons and rivers where you'll be able to see snakes and anacondas, as well as eagles in their search for food, usually snakes. The lush tropical greenery includes wild orchids such as the Queen Victoria and taropes. We'll stop for lunch and a rest around 12:00pm and enjoy our lunch.
Then it's time to board our canoe to explore the river, where you'll have the opportunity of swimming with the pink dolphins. The dolphins are especially sociable, often eagerly approaching upon hearing a motorboat. Other wildlife you'll be able to see during our canoeing trip includes turtles, capybaras, and a variety of large water birds such as flamingos. For a unique experience, you can even fish for the most famous fish of the Amazon, the voracious piranha.
We'll have dinner around 8:00pm and learn about the cultures indigenous to the Bolivian Amazon.

Day 03: Pampas / Rurrenabaque / La Paz

We'll rise early, at 5:30am, setting off in a dugout canoe on a bird-watching trip along the river. Over the next hour and a half we'll listen to a symphony of singing birds as the sun rises over the jungle and the dawn fills with the sounds of parrots, macaws, guans, and capuchin monkeys. We'll have breakfast and then continue by canoe along the Yacuma River en route to some small islands along whose shores you'll see wild geese, cormorants, toucans and other tropical birds, dear, caiman, and sloth. The guide will teach us about the diversity of animal life that gathers around the river, as well as the jungle plants and their various medicinal uses.
We'll have lunch at 12:00pm and return to Santa Rosa, sailing the Yacuma for the last time in the hour and a half back. At Santa Rosa, where we'll arrive around 2:00pm, we'll switch to a 4x4 Jeep and finish our trip to Rurrenabaque.
