We'll pick you up at your hostel or hotel in La Paz between 7:30am and 8:00am and set off by bus to the town of Copacabana. The 3½ hour trip will treat us to striking views of the Andean Cordillera Real, or Royal Range.
Upon our arrival to Copacabana around 12:00pm, we'll accommodate ourselves in the hotel and enjoy our lunch. At 1:30pm we'll board our shared boat and set off along the mirror-like waters of Lake Titicaca, not only huge in area but also the world's highest navigable lake. You'll have an hour and a half to enjoy the sights and diversity of Lake Titicaca before we arrive at Sun Island.
On the island we'll have a small 20 minute trek to the ruins of Pilcocaina Archeological Complex. At this mysterious site the Inca rendered cult to Inti, their highest deity, the Sun God. After touring Pilcocaina, we'll continue along the same path that the Incas themselves walked, descending along the stone Yumani Stairway to the Fountain of Youth.
At 4:30pm we'll embark upon our boat anew to return to Copacabana, where we'll arrive at 6:00pm to have our dinner and a free evening.
After breakfast we'll begin a two hour walking city tour of Copacabana. Our first stop will be the popular pilgrimage site of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Candelaria.
Afterwards we'll ascend to the Calvary, where the Bolivian Yatiris performed different rituals in search of health, love, money, and protection for themselves and their families.
We'll stop for lunch at midday before catching the 1:30pm bus back to La Paz.
The 4th annual International Culinary Fair of Lima, Mistura 2011, is taking place right now at Parque de la Exposición in the center of Lima as foodies from around the world gather for good times and good food. The event will be continuing through to the 18th. Throughout the year Peru has been combed for vendors and chefs of quality and there are more than 1800 products available at the market. One of the big themes of this year's event is "fruits of the Amazon", although you'll find products native to all regions of the country.
Sacred Mt Pachatusan, whose name is quechua for "He Who Sustains the Earth", has the honor of being a preferred site for traditional pre-Columbian rites- such as offerings to the Apu (Mountain Deity) or Pachamama (Earth Mother), purifications, and Ayahuasca ceremonies- as well as the site of one of Peru's largest pilgrimages, the Lord of Huanca.

It boasts recently discovered archeological sites including Inca terraces, irrigation canals, shrines, storehouses, towers, tunnels, and more, in an area that still has not been fully explored. Part of the Inca Trail Network crosses this area as well.
